Maharashtra: 8-month pregnant gang-raped by 8 men

Sangli (Maharashtra) [India], Aug 3 (ANI): An eight-month-old pregnant woman was allegedly gang-raped by eight men in Tasgaon area in Maharashtra's Sangli district on July 31, police said.

The woman, along with her husband, went to a hotel to look for job, where she was later robbed and raped by a waiter and his friends, while her husband was beaten up.

"The woman had gone to a hotel with her husband to look for a job for him. Her husband was beaten up by a waiter and his friends who raped her and later took her jewellery," said Umesh Dandil, Police Inspector, Tasgaon, Sangli.

First investigation report (FIR) has been lodged against the accused and the police have started investigating the matter. (ANI)
