Kerala: Ex-church official who killed Malayattoor priest held

Ernakulam, [Kerala] Mar 2 (ANI): A day after the priest of Malayattoor Angamaly's St Thomas Church was stabbed to death, the police arrested the accused, a former official of the same church.

The police took accused Johny Vattekkadan into custody when he tried to hide inside a hut located within his own rubber plantation.

On Thursday, Johny, who was removed from the post of sacristan three months ago, attacked the priest with a knife after an argument.

The priest, who reportedly suffered injuries on his leg, died as he was taken to a private hospital in nearby Angamaly.
