Jaitley terms Gujarat, HP poll win as victory for development

New Delhi [India], Dec 19 (ANI): Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Monday termed the twin electoral win of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Gujarat and Himachal Pradeshit as 'a victory for development'.

Speaking to ANI, Arun Jaitley said, "This is a victory for development. It was tough to change development into victory but our workers did it. Congress must introspect what went wrong for them."

The Finance Minister further stated that the winning margins were much more than what was predicted in exit polls.

"We received 49 percent votes, more than what was predicted in exit polls," said Jaitley.

The BJP stood victorious in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections with 44 seats, while the Congress acquired 20 seats in the total 68 constituencies.

While in Gujarat, the BJP won the election for the 182-member Assembly claiming a clear majority of 99 seats. (ANI)
