Huge number of Shiv Sena MLA's will join BJP if alliance breaks: Independent Maharashtra MLA
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Sept 22 (ANI): Amid reports of Shiv Sena mulling to call off alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), independent MLA Ravi Rana said on Friday said that the break up will not affect the BJP at all.
Rana said, that it is the Shiv Sena which will bear the brunt if it breaks the alliance in Maharashtra.
One of the six independent MLAs of the state assembly, Ravi Rana said that all six MLAs are in support of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and are happy with his work.
Rana further said that the BJP has always tried to cater Shiv Sena's demands but the latter has always brewed unwarranted objection.
'In the last one to one-and-a-half years, it has become a habit of Shiv Sena to oppose developmental works, and stop the chief minister's works despite being in a ruling position," Rana told ANI, and added that some MLAs and workers of Shiv Sena, satisfied with the CM's work, are also upset with the party over this kind of behaviour.
Rana further said that if Shiv Sena ditches the alliance a huge number of its MLA's will join hands with BJP.
"Those Shiv Sena workers who are with the chief minister, including myself will bid Shiv Sena goodbye in the coming days to walk in BJP's path," Rana said, and added,
"If Shiv sena leaves, the government will not be affected, Devendra Fadnavis will remain the chief minister. In turn, Shiv Sena will suffer a setback they had never thought of."
Rana also indicated that the Maharashtra government may welcome the recently resigned Congress leader Narayan Rane. (ANI)
