Guwahati HC dismiss Nagaland CM petition seeking stay on floor test

Guwahati (Assam) [India], July 18 (ANI): Guwahati High Court on Tuesday dismissed the petition of Nagaland Chief Minister Shurhozelie Liezietsu seeking stay on floor test.

The court has left the matter to the discretion of Governor P. B Acharya, who asked Liezietsu to seek vote of confidence in view of the turbulence within the ruling Naga People's Front (NPF).

The Kohima Bench judge headed by L. S. Jamir heard the argument yesterday.

Liezietsu is facing rebellion by 43 Naga Peoples Front MLAs led by Zeliang demanding change of leadership in the present house of 59.

He filed the petition on July 14 appealing for stay on the Governor's directive. (ANI)
