CISF seizes cricket thigh pads containing narcotic substance

New Delhi (India) August 12 (ANI): The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Sunday detained a Zambian national carrying narcotics substance (Pseudoephedrine) weighing about 24 kg, concealed in cricket thigh pads kept in the baggage at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) Airport.

On Saturday at around 9:00 PM, the CISF surveillance and intelligence team selected a 39-year-old passenger for random checking of his luggage at terminal-3, IGI Airport, New Delhi.

During the screening of his two trolley bags through the X-BIS machine, some suspicious items were noticed inside the bags. On physically checking the thigh pads, narcotic substance (Pseudoephedrine) each weighing 500 gms, approximate total weight 24 Kgs were found.

The matter was informed to Senior Officers of CISF and NCB officials, after which the passenger, identified as Rodgers Silavwe, along with the recovered narcotics substance, was handed over to NCB officials for further legal action. (ANI)
