Case against Bal Gangadhar Tilak's great-grandson Rohit Tilak for allegedly raping woman
Pune (Maharashtra) [India], July 18 (ANI): Pune Police on Tuesday registered a case against Congress leader and freedom fighter Bal Gangadhar Tilak's great-grandson Rohit Tilak for allegedly raping a woman.
Police said, the woman (Dipti Kale) and Rohit Tilak knew each other for the last couple of years.
Speaking to ANI, Dipti said, "Tilak repeatedly raped me on the pretext of marriage. He has also threatened to kill me if I take action against him.
On the basis of the penalties- 376, 377,323, 504, 506, 507 of Indian Penal Code has been registered has been registered against him in Garden Police Station.
Rohit Tilak had unsuccessfully contested the 2014 Maharashtra Assembly polls from Kasba Peth seat in Pune against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Girish Bapat. (ANI)
