BJP slams K'taka govt for showing enthusiasm for Tipu Sultan's birth anniversary

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], November 2 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah on Thursday slammed the Karnataka government for showing enthusiasm on the birth anniversary of 18th century Mysore ruler Tipu Sultan and claimed it to be 'votebank' politics.

While addressing a rally here, the BJP chief said, "Karnataka Mahotsav was supposed to be grand but the state government was not enthusiastic about it, instead they are about Tipu Jayanti."

"This shows votebank politics which will not benefit the people of Karnataka," Shah said.

He accused the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government of breaking all records of corruption.

"Siddaramaiah ji, under your government over 10 BJP-RSS workers have been killed, do you have an answer for it?" Shah asked.

The BJP chief kick started the state party unit's 'Nava Karnataka Nirmana Parivarthana Yatra', a 75-day yatra, aimed at 'exposing' the alleged misdeeds of the Congress Government.

It will go through all the 224 assembly constituencies in the state.

During the yatra, the BJP leaders will hold public meetings in each of the assembly constituencies and present alternative agendas for development.

The rally will culminate in Bengaluru on January 28 and be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. (ANI)
