According to health ministry figures, 98% of the adult population has gotten at least one shot, with 90% completely vaccinated.

India reached a significant milestone in its COVID-19 immunisation campaign, as the total number of vaccine doses delivered in the country topped the 200-crore mark on Sunday, news agency PTI reported.

According to health ministry figures, 98% of the adult population has gotten at least one shot, with 90% completely vaccinated.

"It's a matter of pride for us that India has crossed 2 Billion doses of covid-19 vaccine administered so far. I congratulate the healthcare workers and the citizens on this achievement," Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya was quoted by ANI on its official Twitter handle.

Eighty-one percent of individuals aged 12-14 years have had their first dosage, and 56% are completely vaccinated.

According to health ministry authorities, 71% of vaccinations have taken place at Covid vaccination centres located in rural regions, with the remaining 29% taking place in urban areas.

In addition, women received 48.9% of total dosages, while males received 51.5 percent. 'Others' received 0.02 percent of all vaccination doses delivered, according to the statistics.
