Played Worldle Yet? This Wordle Spinoff Is For Geography Enthusiasts

A health journalist in Ireland has now come up with a new game, Worldle. The game shows a map and asks you to guess the country or the territory in five attempts.

New Delhi: In a very short time, word game Wordle took the world by storm and made its creator, a software engineer in the US, richer by around a million dollars. The superhit word game is now owned by the New York Times.

Cashing in on the popularity of the game, many copycats came up and people started making games similar to Wordle.

A health journalist in Ireland has now come up with a new game, Worldle. The game shows a map and asks you to guess the country or the territory in five attempts. If the user guesses the wrong country, they get to know how far or close they were, in kilometres term, from the right place.

“I present you Worldle. You’re given a map of a country/territory. If you get it wrong, it will tell you how close you are and give you the direction and distance from the right answer,” Fintan Walsh, who develops “public health messages for the pandemic” according to his Twitter bio, posted on the microblogging site on February 12.

Netizens lapped up the new game in no time. At the time of writing, Walsh's post had been shared over 20,000 times and liked over 82,000 times.

People are widely sharing their scores too.

“We are now half a million who played #Worldle today,” a user posted.
