PS Plus Games: Subscribers Will Be Able To Play God of War Ragnarök and More For Free This January

PS Plus Games: Subscribers this month will be able to play God of War Ragnarök for free. Here are the other games that will be joining the catalogue lineup for January.

PS Plus Games: Sony has announced the lineup of games arriving in the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog this January. Leading the selection is Santa Monica Studio's acclaimed action-adventure, God of War Ragnarök. Serving as a direct sequel to the 2018 hit God of War, the game continues the Norse saga of Kratos and Atreus as they confront Odin and his forces.

Joining this flagship title are other exciting additions like the action-adventure Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, the action-RPG Atlas Fallen: Reign of Sand, the rhythm-based Sayonara Wild Hearts, and more. These titles will be accessible starting January 21 for PS Plus Extra and Deluxe/Premium members.

Sony also shared updates on the PS Plus Classics Catalog, unveiling the retro-inspired additions for this month in a recent PlayStation Blog post. Earlier in January, the company revealed the PS Plus monthly free games lineup, which includes Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered, and The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe. These free games remain available to subscribers across all PlayStation Plus tiers.

PS Plus Game For January

God of War Ragnarök leads the lineup of titles joining the PS Plus Game Catalog this month. As a sequel, it masterfully builds on its predecessor, delivering a bigger, more intense experience with heightened action, deeper narrative stakes, and even more stunning visuals than 2018's God of War.

This epic installment continues and concludes the Norse saga of Kratos, as he faces off against Odin, Thor, and their formidable forces alongside Atreus. The game offers an expanded hub world for exploration, introduces new weapons, and ramps up the intensity with additional boss battles. God of War Ragnarök will be available for both PS4 and PS5 players.

Joining the catalog this month is Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, a spin-off from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio's Yakuza series. The game follows Kazuma Kiryu, the iconic protagonist, as he abandons his name to assume the role of a secret agent. Set during the events of 2020's Yakuza: Like a Dragon, this title bridges the story and provides essential context leading into 2024's Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

Like all RGG Studio titles, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name delivers intense brawler-style combat, a compact yet richly detailed open world, and a wealth of side activities to explore. The game is accessible on both PS4 and PS5.

Also joining the PS Plus Game Catalog this January is Atlas Fallen: Reign of Sand. This enhanced edition of the action-RPG introduces a larger game world, fresh quests, new enemies, and additional challenges to keep players engaged. The Reign of Sand update revamps the opening act with improved voice acting, rewritten dialogues, and a completely overhauled progression system, offering a refined experience. This title is available exclusively for PS5 players.

Here is the complete lineup of games coming to the PS Plus Game Catalog this month for PlayStation Plus Extra and Deluxe/Premium subscribers:
