India’s Pokémon trainers are in for an electrifying adventure as Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Global lands in the country with a bang. The annual mega-event by Niantic is going bigger than ever, with Nexus Malls in five cities transforming into live hubs for the two-day festival on June 28 and 29, 2025.

From Navi Mumbai to Chennai, Pokémon fans can dive into augmented reality mayhem with exclusive encounters, rare Pokémon appearances, and avatar upgrades — all while connecting with fellow trainers in person. This marks one of the most immersive Pokémon GO activations in India to date.

“Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Global is more than just a virtual event — it’s a celebration of exploration, community, and the spirit of discovery that defines Pokémon GO,” said Sundarraman Ramalingam, India Manager at Niantic, Inc.

Five Cities, One Fest: Malls Become Pokémon GO Arenas

The event will unfold at five flagship Nexus Malls: Nexus Seawoods (Navi Mumbai), Nexus Select CityWalk (Delhi), Nexus Hyderabad, Nexus Mall Koramangala (Bengaluru), and Nexus Vijaya Mall (Chennai). These venues will serve as buzzing Pokémon GO community zones where players can interact offline and join in on special tasks and surprises.

The collaboration aims to create safe, inclusive spaces for fans to immerse themselves in real-world gameplay. As Ramalingam added, “Collaborating with Nexus Malls allows us to bring Pokémon GO to life in spaces that are not only safe and accessible but also deeply rooted in local communities.”

Rare Encounters and Mythical Debuts Await

The headline act? The debut of the Mythical Fire- and Water-type Pokémon Volcanion, making its first appearance in the game exclusively for ticket-holding players on Day 1. Through a limited-time Special Research story, trainers will unlock the chance to meet this elusive creature.

Also joining the fun are Shiny Carbink and Shiny Frigibax, who will appear in the wild for the first time during the event. With rotating habitats and unique field research challenges, the event promises rich gameplay variety.

Beyond the mall activations, Niantic is also hosting virtual trainer meetups in 26 cities, including Kolkata, Indore, Chandigarh, and Coimbatore, ensuring even those not near a Nexus Mall can still join the global celebration.
