Ninja Gaiden 4 Now Official After A Dozen Years Of Break, Ninja Gaiden 2 Remake Available To Play As A Bonus
Ninja Gaiden 4 shifts focus to Yakumo, a young warrior from the Raven clan, tasked with defeating the formidable Dark Dragon.

Ninja Gaiden 4: After over a dozen years, Team Ninja has confirmed that Ninja Gaiden 4 will launch in Fall 2025. Developed in partnership with Platinum Games, the upcoming title marks a return to the legendary action series with revamped combat, platforming mechanics, and fast-paced gameplay. This will be the first major entry since Ninja Gaiden 3 in 2012.
The announcement came during the Xbox Developer Direct event, where both gameplay footage and developer insights teased what players can expect. Set to release on Xbox, PC, and PlayStation 5, the new game introduces a fresh lead character while keeping Ninja Gaiden's signature intensity and intricate fight sequences.
A New Hero & Rivals Collide
Ninja Gaiden 4 shifts focus to Yakumo, a young warrior from the Raven clan, tasked with defeating the formidable Dark Dragon. Unlike the previous titles, Yakumo brings a personal vendetta against Ryu Hayabusa, the iconic ninja from earlier games, as their clans have long been rivals. The trailer showcases a dramatic moment where Yakumo faces off against Ryu, challenging him to step aside and let him carry out his mission.
Set after the events of Ninja Gaiden 3, the game takes place in a world plagued by ceaseless rain and darkness. Although Ryu Hayabusa isn't the main protagonist, his role remains crucial to the unfolding story. Fumihiko Yasuda, Producer and head of Team Ninja, teased that the journey will explore Ryu's motivations while deepening the conflict between the two skilled ninjas.
