Indus Gameplay Trailer Sets Pace For Made-In-India Battle Royale; Shows Off Characters, Weapons
Indus pre-registrations have gone live via Google Play for Android users.
Indus, the upcoming made-in-India mobile battle royale developed by Pune-based studio SuperGaming, has dropped its first gameplay trailer on the occasion of India’s Republic Day celebrations. While the earlier launch trailer of Indus was marked by a glitzy release at Times Square in New York City on Independence Day last year, the new gameplay trailer was released in takeovers across several locations in London.
The new trailer not only offers a glimpse into the fictional world of ‘Virlok’, but also sets the tone of the fast-paced gameplay that Indus promises. In typical battle-royale format, players will take control of ‘Mythwalkers’ as they jump into a sprawling map, make use of the game’s impressive arsenal of weapons and traversal to “discover, loot, and win”.

The ‘Mythwalkers’, or character skins — called ‘paragons’ in-game, are deeply entrenched in Indus’ premise of Indo-futurism. On one hand, you have an elephant-inspired battlesuit called Big Gaj (noted the nod to Gajanan?), on the other, you have a K-2SO like android aptly called Sir-Taj.
Among weapons, you will get your pick from the usual battle-royale gun classes, from hand cannons and SMGs to sniper rifles and LMGs. Speaking of gameplay, Indus looks to offer a Fortnite-esque experience to users, complete with intense gunplay and smooth traversal.
Android users can pre-register for Indus via the Google Play store. iOS users will gain access to pre-registrations soon. While SuperGaming is yet to confirm a launch date, given the studio’s inclination towards making new announcements on dates that coincide with national landmarks such as Independence Day and Republic Day, it’s safe to speculate that the game may actually see a release when next such instance arrives — perhaps the upcoming August 15. This is all purely speculation at this point.
“As we've been making Indus and seeing its gameplay evolve over the year, we wanted to share it with the rest of the world," says SuperGaming co-founder and CEO Roby John while commenting on the London 'takeover'. "This gameplay trailer is for the Indus community the world over that may not have been able to play it with us and to show off the true scale of battle royale that we want you to have when the game is out."
