Indian Play-To-Earn Game Ethernia Announced By SuperGaming, Waitlist Live Now
Play To Earn games allow players to earn crypto assets as in-game collectibles that have real-world value.
SuperGaming, the Pune-based gaming firm behind popular mobile games such as MaskGun, Silly Royale, and the upcoming battle royale Indus, has announced a new play-to-earn game. Dubbed Ethernia, the tower defense Web3 game will be available to play on mobile and PC starting October this year. The waitlist for Etherenia is currently live, and has already seen 150,000 signups in less than a week.
Play To Earn is a form of gaming-business model that is based on blockchain technology. A blockchain acts like a digital ledger that helps track all transactions done on it in an unadulterated manner. All digital tokens, such as a crypto coin or a non-fungible token (NFT), exist only on blockchains.
So, Play To Earn games are titles that allow players to earn crypto assets as in-game collectibles that have real-world value.

Ethernia is based on the Polygon blockchain, which was chosen by SuperGaming owing to its low gas fees and robust network. Ethernia’s in-game currency is dubbed mETN.
Following a classic tower defense formula, Ethernia allows players to engage in PvE or PvP matchups to win and collect cards. There are three types of cards in the offering — Tower Cards, Minion Cards, and Hero Cards. These Hero Cards are (NFTs) that are minted on Polygon. These Hero Cards, in turn, can be traded or sold off by players for other NFTs, mETNs, or real-world money.
It should be noted that all other elements in the game, apart from the Hero Cards, are fungible assets.
"Our vision when we set out to build Ethernia was to have a long-term sustainable economy that’s resilient and in-line with player needs," says Venkat Chandar, Vice President of Product, SuperGaming. "The economy in Ethernia heavily focuses on the players and is created with them in mind. We hope this makes Ethernia a self-sustaining and thriving economy for all."
As mentioned earlier, Ethernia’s waitlist has already seen signups from 150,000 players. Players who sign up will be rewarded with 500 mETNs.
SuperGaming is also working on a new battle royale, Indus, which promises a ‘Indo-futuristic’ setting reveals strong lore inspired by the Harappa-Mohenjo Daro civilisation, set in the year 2500, complete with cool elements such as a Ganesha-inspired battlesuit.
