GTA Online PC To Finally Get PS5 & Xbox Series-Like Features, Rockstar Games Confirms

This update refers to the exclusive features introduced with the enhanced GTA 5 release for PS5 and Xbox Series consoles back in 2022.

In a subtle yet cheeky reveal, Rockstar Games hinted today that the PC version of Grand Theft Auto Online will finally get the long-awaited PS5 and Xbox Series console features sometime next year. Rockstar Games in a community update wrote, "There is much more still to come, including ongoing weekly special events and bonuses, festive celebrations, gifts, surprises, as well as plans to bring the much-requested PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S features of GTA Online to the PC platform in the new year."

It added, "Please stay tuned to the Rockstar Games Newswire for details."

What Does This Mean

This update refers to the exclusive features introduced with the enhanced GTA 5 release for PS5 and Xbox Series consoles back in 2022. This version brought a range of upgrades, including improved graphics settings, quality-of-life updates, a fresh intro and tutorial, and new vehicle customizations.

Additionally, it allowed players to transfer their story mode progress and GTA Online characters from previous-generation consoles to the latest ones, even supporting cross-platform transfers. This could hint that similar transfer options might soon be available for the PC version as well.

The update has been highly anticipated by fans since the enhanced editions launched on consoles, as they’ve long requested these features for the PC platform. Meanwhile, Rockstar’s latest community update, set to roll out for all GTA Online players in December, includes new activities at the Darnell Bros Garment Factory, fresh missions, vehicles, and various quality-of-life improvements.

While players wait for GTA 6—which is still slated for a fall 2025 release and won’t include a PC version at launch—this update offers plenty to keep them busy. Fortunately, it’s likely just a matter of time before a PC release of GTA 6 follows.
