GTA 6: 2025 seems to be the year when Grand Theft Auto fans might finally get their hands on Grand Theft Auto VI, also stylised as GTA VI or GTA 6. The last entry in the franchise was released way back in 2013 and is the only PS3-era game that has seen a remaster and re-release on both succeeding PlayStation consoles, PS4 and PS5. As fans eagerly await the release of the game, here's everything you need to know about GTA 6.
GTA 6 Release Date
Although Rockstar Games has been impressively tight-lipped, it is largely expected that GTA 6 will see the light of day in the second half (or Q3/Q4) of 2025.
GTA 6 Platforms
At first, GTA 6 will be released exclusively on consoles, i.e. on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, marking a shift to current-gen exclusivity. No versions for PS4 or Xbox One are planned.
While PC gamers may face a longer wait, a release on that platform is anticipated in 2026.

The new instalment in the GTA series will let the players go wild in the fictional city of Leonida, which is largely inspired by Florida’s Everglades and Keys regions. Series veterans will be delighted to find the Vice City, the map where Tommy Vercetti's escapades were set in, will be a part of the larger Leonida map.
From the first trailer, it's pretty clear that GTA 6 will bring a sprawling sandbox of a city filled with crowded beaches, neon-lit city streets, as well as croc-infested backwater regions for players to go crazy in.

Gameplay leaks suggest enhancements such as advanced stealth mechanics, improved police AI, and the return of the iconic five-star “Wanted” system (which also means that the cops might be a bit too strict in GTA 6, but when has that ever deterred GTA players).
Despite earlier rumours of delays and the major security breach in 2022 that exposed development footage, Rockstar has reassured fans that production is on schedule. The company remains committed to delivering a polished product, emphasising that the game won’t release until it meets their standards of perfection.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of a second trailer of GTA 6, which might take place on December 27.
GTA 6 Price In India
Going by the current pricing of the latest AAA console releases, GTA 6 is expected to carry a price tag of Rs 5,999. The cost might go up to Rs 7,299 if Rockstar announces any special editions.
Of course, it's safe to speculate that introductory pre-launch offers will be in place, which might help you grab the game for a slightly cheaper price, but don't expect a massive discount at first.
