Roby John, CEO and co-founder of SuperGaming, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "We believe that with Project Gameface and Google AI, developers have the opportunity to bring gaming to everyone. We're proud to partner with Google to showcase the fullest expression of accessible gaming through Indus at Google I/O 2024."

What Is Project Gameface?

Project Gameface is an innovative open-source solution designed to enable hands-free control of a computer's cursor using head movements and facial gestures. This technology allows users to perform various actions within games, such as clicking, dragging, and character movement, simply by utilising facial expressions.

For Indus, specific configurations have been implemented, including using eyebrow movements to control character direction and mouth gestures for actions like sprinting and shooting. Moreover, head movements facilitate camera control, offering players a seamless gaming experience without the need for traditional controllers or additional equipment.

The emphasis on accessibility in gaming is crucial for fostering inclusivity and ensuring that individuals of all cognitive, physical, and sensory abilities can actively participate in the gaming community. By eliminating barriers to entry, initiatives like Project Gameface and games like Indus aim to create a more inclusive gaming landscape.

This unveiling at Google I/O underscores a broader effort to promote accessibility and inclusivity within the gaming industry. SuperGaming had previously announced plans to integrate Project Gameface technology into the PC version of Indus, further demonstrating their commitment to advancing accessible gaming experiences.
