Google Cloud Collaborates With SuperGaming To Bring LiveOps Engine To Developers

Running on Google Cloud, SuperPlatform will allow developers to manage several elements of their games.

SuperGaming — the homegrown gaming firm behind popular titles such as PAC-MAN, MaskGun, Silly Royale, and the upcoming battle royale Indus — has joined hands with Google Cloud to bring SuperPlatform, a LiveOps engine to developers across the globe.

In case you are already scratching your head, LiveOps stands for live operations and it helps devs test updates or changes made to a game, without having to release it to the public first. LiveOps is essential for developers of live-service games as it helps them test-run an update before a general rollout.

Running on Google Cloud, SuperPlatform will allow devs to manage several elements of their games, including the likes of matchmaking, player progression, player data, analytics, monetisation systems, server scaling, sales, and merchandising. To put it simply, SuperPlatform is a Saas, which is an independent software vendor (ISV) running on Google Cloud.

SuperPlatform has already been tested on several SuperGaming titles, including PAC-MAN and MaskGun. “The SuperPlatform is at the core of what makes our games tick,” says Roby John, CEO and co-founder, SuperGaming. “It’s been made by game developers, for game developers, and after years of iteration, finesse, and supporting some marquee games like PAC-MAN, we felt it's the right time to share it with more game developers.”

“Gaming is a big focus for Google Cloud. We have scaled our global investments in this space and are excited about the response we are getting from the market,” says Bikram Singh Bedi, Managing Director, Google Cloud India. “Advancements like the SuperPlatform are welcome additions to an ever-evolving ecosystem. With Google Cloud’s infrastructure that enables developers to build at scale and SuperGaming’s pedigree in gaming, we can really drive impact and innovation and see more games come out of India.”
