The smartphone industry is contributing in its own way to support this growth among players. Over the past five years, smartphone RAM capacity has experienced a three to four-fold increase. This enhancement in RAM has significantly boosted the storage capabilities of mobile devices for gaming purposes. Users can now store larger and more complex games, leading developers to create games with superior graphics and performance.
Lokesh Suji, Director of the Esports Federation of India & Vice President of the Asian EsportsFederation (AESF) while talking about this growth said, "The rapidly growing Indian esports industry has indeed provided fertile ground for talent to flourish while also contributing to economic prosperity within the nation. Job openings spanning diverse roles such as developers, programmers, casters, team managers, coaches, event organizers, writers, and more, are a testament to the fact that thriving in the industry doesn't solely rely on being an esports athlete."
He added, "The inclusion of esports in last year's Asian Games, where ESFI sent the talented Indian contingent, and potentially at the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games 2025, has further solidified its status as a legitimate and mainstream form of sporting discipline. Furthermore, with educational institutions also integrating esports into their curriculum, there is an abundance of opportunities for aspiring professionals to flourish in this landscape."
