Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Wednesday announced game development platform Crayta which lets players create, share, and play games with friends will be available on Facebook Gaming’s cloud-streaming service. Crayta would be available on Facebook Gaming as a cloud streaming experience. It should be noted that Crayta was earlier made available on the Epic Games Store and Google Stadia.
Crayta, the free-to-play game will be hosted by Facebook, which means a user just needs to have an account on the social networking platform to get started. According to the company, Crayta will give a developer toolkit and makes game creation more accessible.
"Excited to launch our Crayta social world and game-building environment on Facebook Gaming. With our cloud-streaming tech, it's really fast to build on both mobile and desktop even if you don't have a powerful system. I recently jumped into Crayta with some talented creators to talk about the future of gaming while building Meta's iconic Hacker Square," Zuckerberg announced via a Facebook post.
As Crayta now becomes available on Facebook Gaming, users will not have to pay for a Google Stadia subscription in order to play the game. This also means that users do not have to download the game to their computer to play the game as well. Crayta, which is developed by Unit 2 Games was acquired by Meta in 2021.
Developed by Unit 2 Games Limited, the game had originally launched as an exclusive for Google Stadia in 2020. Crayta's availability was expanded to PCs via the Epic Games Store in 2021.
