After almost three decades, EA Sports on Friday released its first football simulator without the partnership of the FIFA franchise, EA Sports FC 24. The end of the partnership was announced last year when both parties were not able to come to a mutual agreement regarding the renewing terms of the partnership. The last and final football title which was released by EA Sports with “FIFA” in the title was FIFA 23. FIFA fans who were saddened by the split are hoping for a lot from this release as EA has been successful in retaining the official team names and player likenesses.
The gamble of name change and rebranding is being seen as a risky move as the names FIFA and football had been one in the gaming industry for so long. Moreover, the rebranding of a franchise as successful as the best-selling franchise in the UK since the 1990s is quite unheard of. EA Sports FC 24 is set to release on September 29, 2023. The game will be available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
EA Sports FC 24: Editions
The game will be coming in only two editions this time — standard and ultimate.
The Standard edition will offer the full game along with other perks such as Dual Entitlement, Ultimate Team Cover Star Loan Player Item for 10 Ultimate Team matches, Two Ambassador Loan Player Pick Items for 5 Ultimate Team matches, One Clubs Unlocked PlayStyles Slot, Additional Player Career Personality Points, One Manager Career 5-Star Coach Available for hire.
EA Sports FC 24 Ultimate Edition, on the other hand, will offer access to all the perks from the standard edition but also add 7-days early access, 4,600 FC Points, Access to Nike Ultimate Team Campaign, TOTW 1 Ultimate Team Player Item, Nike Ultimate Team Loan Player Item for 24 Ultimate Team Matches & Nike x EA Sports Ultimate Team kit, Untradeable UCL/UWCL hero (which will be available on November 23).

On the PS Store, the EA Sports FC 24 price is set at Rs 4,499 for the PS4 & PS5 standard edition, whereas the EA Sports FC 24 Ultimate Edition for PS4 and PS5 is priced at Rs 6,499.
For Xbox users, EA Sports FC 24 is priced at Rs 4,499 for the Xbox One and Series X/S standard edition. The EA Sports FC 24 Ultimate Edition, priced at Rs 6,499, will offer access to both Xbox One and Xbox Series X editions.
EA Sports FC 24: Gameplay
While the previous FIFA games might not appear too different in terms of gameplay year-on-year, EA Sports FC 24 boasts of HyperMotionV which captures the game as it’s truly played by using volumetric data from more than 180 professional men’s and women’s football matches to influence the movements of the players in-game. This unlocks authentic full-team movement as well as 1,200 signature run styles so fans can experience the unique ways that top players move.
For the first time ever, you will be able to include female players in your FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT). Yes, both men and women can now be in the same team. Fans had been demanding for this feature to be added for years and EA now has fulfilled their wish.
You'll get two options in the game viz. Career and Dream Team. In Career Mode, you will get the opportunity to craft a soccer career as a player, manager, or both, and lead your team towards victory. In Ultimate Team mode, your goal will be to assemble and manage your dream team. You will be engaging in various challenges and competitions with that dream team of yours.
Some other additions to the gameplay are in the aspects of Passing, Attacking and Defending.
Passing has new key features including ‘Precision Passing’, ‘Swerve On Demand’ and ‘Headers On Demand’. ‘Precision Passing’, in particular, will reward the players when they successfully aim at a target location with manual precision.
Attacking transitions have been boosted by ‘Effort Dribble Touch’, which will allow you to knock the ball ahead to set up your next touch.
When it comes to the improvements in defensive play, ‘Advanced Defending’ will enable players to specifically select what action they want to launch with an alternate layout of buttons.
