Detective Dotson: What To Expect

Set against the backdrop of a stylised modern-day India, Detective Dotson invites players to step into the shoes of Dotson, a reluctant sleuth navigating the streets in search of answers.

The demo, now live on Steam, gives players a taste of the action with two intriguing cases:

  • The Mystery of Mrs. Sengupta’s Kitty Party Ban: Uncover why your neighbourhood aunty was barred from her social circle.
  • Parth’s Pigeon Problem: Solve the mystery behind your best friend’s feud with a flock of pesky birds.

Players can immerse themselves in a vibrant blend of 2D and 3D visuals, experiment with a variety of disguises, and tackle engaging side quests. While the demo offers a glimpse, the full release promises a richer, more expansive experience.

The game is built on Unity, supports controllers, and features an original soundtrack created in collaboration with Nikhil Rao, guitarist of the iconic Indian fusion rock band Indian Ocean.

Based in Ahmedabad, Masala Games was founded by Shalin Shodhan, a BAFTA and Oscar-winning game developer with experience at industry giants like Electronic Arts (Spore) and Pixar (Toy Story 3, Brave). The studio is committed to delivering captivating gaming experiences for audiences worldwide.

Wishlist Detective Dotson on Steam now and prepare for a mystery-filled adventure next April.
