New Delhi: Divyanka Tripathi starrer ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ is one of the most loved shows on Indian television. The show, which was launched on December 3, 2013, has become the longest running show from the stable of Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms by completing over 1800 episodes. While ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ aired 1833 episodes, ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ has telecasted 1846 episodes.

‘YHM’ originally featured Karan Patel as Raman Bhalla opposite Divyanka Tripathi. The actor quit the popular Star Plus show to participate in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 10’. Chaitanya Choudhary has replaced Karan Patel as new Raman Bhalla in ‘Yeh Mohabbatein’. His entry, after the plastic surgery track, has already created a lot of buzz on social media.

Speculations were rife that the makers of ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ had scrapped the spin-off of the show titled ‘Yeh Hai Chahatein’. The show was supposed to replace ‘YHM’ but the buzz regarding it died down when the rumours of Ekta Kapoor scrapping the spin-off hit the internet. ‘Na Bole Tum Na Main Kuch Kaha’ fame actress Aakanksha Singh was rumoured to play the female lead in the show. ‘Krishna Chali London’ actor Karan Vohra was reportedly in the race to play the male lead.

A report in an entertainment portal has now suggested that Ekta Kapoor is keen to rope in Karan Wahi as the male lead of ‘Yeh Hai Chahatein’. Yes, you heard that right.

‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ will end in November while ‘Yeh Hai Chahatein’ will replace the show in December, the report in Tellychakkar said.

On the professional front, Karan Wahi is currently hosting ‘Dance India Dance 7’, which will air its grand finale this weekend. He was also part of ‘Sacred Games. Karan Wahi was last seen in a fiction show in Sony TV’s ‘Kuch Toh Log Kahenge’.
