Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: Jinal Jain & Palak Siddhwani In Contention To Play NEW Sonu?

Nidhi Bhanushali, who played the role of Sonu, has quit Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah to focus on her higher studies. Jinal Jain & Palak Siddhwani are in race to replace Nidhi.

New Delhi: Sony SAB’s ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is all set to complete 11 successful years on July 28, 2019. The popular sitcom has managed to tickle the funny bones of the viewers with its comic episodes. The characters of the show, be it Jethalal, Dayaben, Tappu or Champaklal, have their significant fan following. ‘Taarak Mehta’ is all set to witness the return of one if its characters-Sonu Bhide. Nidhi Bhanushali, who played the role of Sonu, had quit the show to focus on her studies. We had earlier told you that the makers were auditioning several actresses to play new Sonu. As per the latest buzz, they have shortlisted two actresses to essay the role. (Source- web) A report in a leading daily has suggested that makers have shortlisted two actresses, Jinal Jain and Palak Siddhwani to essay the role of Bhide and Madhavi's daughter. The team at Neela Telefilms has shortlisted Jinal and Palak for the role after conducting several auditions, a source close to the show told Times Of India. Producer Asit Modi will soon finalise one of them for the role of Sonu. Jinal Jain has been part of shows like ‘Pavitra Rishta’ and ‘Yeh Vaada Raha’. She was last seen in the Star Bharat show ‘Pyaar Ke Papad’.

Palak Siddhwani is a newbie and she has done some ads. It remains to be seen which actress will finally bag the role of Sonu. The role of Sonu Bhide was originally played by Jheel Mehta, who bid adieu to the show in 2012. Nidhi Bhanushali replaced Jheel as new Sonu and played the character for six long years.
