New Delhi: Popular TV actress Saumya Tandon, who is fondly known for her role as Anita Bhabhi in ‘Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain’, has quit the show. Speculations were rife that Saumya wanted to leave the popular sitcom due to the COVID-19 crisis as she has a small baby at her home. It was rumoured that ‘Bigg Boss 13’ contestant Shefali Jariwala would replace Saumya in ‘BGPH’. However, the ‘Jab We Met’ actress had denied all the rumours back then.

Saumya gave birth to a baby boy on January 14, 2019. The actress and her husband Saurabh Devendra Singh have named their son Miraan. Saumya, while talking to a leading daily, confirmed her exit from the show.

She said that she didn’t renew her contract and gossip mills can now stop speculating about her future in the show.

“Yes, I have decided to not renew my contract further. Finally, people can stop speculating whether I will continue on the show or not,” Saumya told Bombay Times.

The beautiful actress shot for her last episode on Thursday (August 20). The cast and crew gave Saumya an emotional farewell on her last day t sets. The entire team of ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’ got together to say goodbye to the talented actress.

The makers of ‘Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain’ are yet to announce Saumya’s replacement. Ardent fans of the show will definitely miss Saumya as Anita Bhabhi as they are used to seeing her for the past five years.

The show also stars Aasif Sheikh, Shubhangi Atre and Rohitash Gaud. Saumya played the role of Aasi’s on-screen wife.
