Monika Bhadoriya On Disha Vakani Quitting Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: 'Kuch Toh Aisa Bura Laga Hi Hoga'

Monika Bhadoriya, who played the role of Bawri in 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah', has now hinted that Dayaben aka Disha Vakani may have left the show for the ill-treatment of makers.

New Delhi: Monika Bhadoriya, who played the role of Bawri in 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah', is one of the ex-cast members of the show who have levelled allegations of mistreatment and toxic work culture. Monika has now hinted that Dayaben aka Disha Vakani may also have left the show for these reasons.

In a recent conversation with Bollywood Bubble, the actor hinted that something must have hurt Disha or she may not have been paid well and that might may be the reason for her not returning to the show. Asked if Disha also received bad treatment on sets, Monika told Bollywood Bubble, "I don't want to comment on her. Maybe. Hoga...kuch toh aisa bura laga hi hoga. Aapko koi accha pay kar raha hai aur bula raha hai baar baar aap nahi aana chahte ho toh yehi reason honge na aur kya ho sakta hai (Must be something. If someone calls you repeatedly and also offers good money and you still do not want to return…why else would one you do that)?"

The makers of the show have been accused of toxic work culture, ill-treatment, and harassment of the cast of the show. It all started when Jennifer Mistry, who used to play Mrs. Roshan Sodhi, accused the makers of misbehaving with her and the show’s producer Asit Modi of sexual harassment. After that, many ex-cast members of the show, including Monika, came out and shared their experiences with the makers.

In an earlier conversation with Pinkvilla, Monika had said that she became a different person altogether after working with TMKOC makers. “I was a very different kind of person when I joined TMKOC and the show completely changed me. When I looked at myself, I thought ‘What have I become working with them?’ There was a lot of negativity. So I left TMKOC and worked on myself. They used to torture me and I thought of committing suicide. The makers of TMKOC have their own set of rules which are different from the industry and they don’t follow the rules of CINTAA,” she told Pinkvilla.

Many actors including Disha Vakani, Jennifer Mistry, Monika Bhadoriya, Shailesh Lodha and Priya Ahuja, have left the show.
