Television actress Leena Acharya, who featured in several small shows including 'Meri Hanikarak Biwi', 'Aap Ke Aa Jan Se', passed away on Saturday (November 21) in Delhi. The actress left for her heavenly abode after suffering a kidney failure. Her 'Seth Ji' co-star Worship Khanna, while talking to a leading daily, said that Leena was suffering from the kidney ailment since the past one-and-a-half year. Speculations were rife that Archarya died due to COVID-19; however, Khanna squashed all the rumours and said that she took her last breathe due to kidney failure.

Worship and Leena worked together in Zee TV's 'Seth Ji' in which the latter played his on-screen mother. The actor said that he shared a good bond with Leena.

"The actress was suffering from kidney ailment for past one and half years. Her mother donated her kidney a while back, but she didn’t survive," Worship told Times Of India.

Leena had last shared two photos on her official Instagram handle. Fans have flooded the comments section with the messages.



Rohan Mehra, who is fondly known for playing the role of Naksh in Shivangi Joshi and Mohsin Khan starrer 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai', mourned Leena's death on social media. The 'Bigg Boss 10' contestant took to his Instagram story to share a heartfelt post for her along with her picture. He revealed that they were shooting for 'Class of 2020' last year. The web series airs on ALTBalaji.

The caption for the post read, "Rest in peace Leena Acharya ma'am. Last year this time we were shooting for class of 2020. Will miss you." Check out the photo!
