Ishqbaaaz: Not Drashti Dhami but newbie Manjiri to play the female lead opposite Nakuul Mehta?

Popular TV show ‘Ishqbaaaz’ has been grabbing headlines these days after the news of it taking a generation leap spread like fire on the internet. Fans are disappointed as Surbhi Chandna aka Anika had bid adieu to the show due to the leap on the Star Plus. Nakuul Mehta, who plays Shivaay will continue his journey in the show and play his own on-screen son. Speculations were rife that Drashti Dhami and Sanaya Irani were in contention to play the new female lead of ‘Ishqbaaaz’. As per the latest buzz, there’s a likelihood of a new actress playing the lead opposite Nakuul Mehta. A report in an entertainment  portal suggested that newbie actress Manjiri is expected to play the new female lead of the show. (Manjiri, source- web) “There are bright chances of Manjiri signing on the dotted lines. She is a promising actor and the best part is that she carries no baggage as she is a newcomer,” a source told IWMBuzz. The report further stated that Manjiri has done some work in the Marathi circuit and ‘Ishqbaaaz’ will be her debut work on Hindi TV. Surbhi recently announced her exit from the show and fans flooded the comments section with the messages and wishes for her. Post her exit from Ishqbaaaz, the ‘Qubool Hai’ actress will be seen in Sunil Grover’s upcoming show ‘Kanpur Wale Khurranas’. Surbhi will be playing Kunal Kemmu’s girlfriend on the comedy show. Apart from Surbhi, other leading actors of IB- Kunal Jaisingh, Leenesh Mattoo, Mansi Srivastava and Shrenu Parikh have also bid farewell to the show. Watch this space for more updates!
