The show that tickled the nation for 7 long years with it's various news seasons launched each year between 2007 to 2014, is now returning after 4 years in all new avatar and new set of comedians-tv stars gracing the show along with the original judges Sohail Khan and Archana Puran Singh. Comedian Sidharth Sagar aka 'Naseer ji' and 'Selfie Mausi' of 'Comedy Classes', who was in news a few months ago over his fallout with mother, drug addiction and rehabilitation centre stay, will make a comeback with a bang too and will be seen playing the famous 'Dancing Uncle' Sanjeev Srivastava on the show. Dance reality show 'Super Dancer' fame Paritosh Tripathi aka 'TRP Mama' and 'Cutie Pie Sharma' comedian-RJ Abhilash Thaplial (of Entertainment Ki Raat fame) is joining the list of new faces too who are coming to give us the comedy dose that's been missing from the small screen for quite some time.


The makers have released number of promos for it's ‘original laughter dose’ show, giving us a glimpse into what's in store in this comeback show for audience. While one of these has the famous Archana Puran Singh with her signature laughter, another one shows Sidharth dancing to 'main se meena se na saqi se' tune donning the bald & suited avatar of viral dancing uncle Sanjeev Shrivastav.

'Comedy Circus' is returning with the same channel, Sony TV, and it's premiere date is announced too which is 15th  September. It will air on weekends Saturday-Sunday at 9.30pm.

As per reports, the stand-up comedy reality series 'Comedy Circus' will replace Salman Khan’s 'Dus Ka Dum' and the new season will be hosted by Polish anchor Joanna Robaczewska. “Joanna is a refreshing find. Though she’s not of Indian origin, she manages to hold fort and displays a fine sense of picking the pulse of the moment. She’s worked really hard on her Hindi and the way she speaks brings a smile on the faces of the people around her.” - a source had informed DNA. Shrui Seth hosted most number of seasons of the earlier show.

A source has informed Indianexpress - “With Kaun Banega Crorepati 10 on weekdays, and Comedy Circus on weekends, Sony TV is set to give the audience weeklong entertainment. We are really excited about Comedy Circus and have been waiting to present the show to the viewers. The team has already shot for a couple of episodes. And we are quite confident that it’s going to be a fun season. This time, the competition will be judged in trios, comprising of two actors and one comedian.”

The Tv stars who are part of 'Comedy Circus' are...

'Naagin 3' actress Anita Hassanandani, Anita's 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein' co-star Aditi Bhatia, Hottie Karishma Sharma, Ketan Singh and Ojaswi Oberoi. Sana Saeed of SRK-Kajol's 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' fame, Punjabi actor Preeto Sawhney are also joining the show.

Apart from this, the comedy stalwarts like Mubeen Saudagar, Balraj Sanyal, kid Divyanksh Dwivedi will also be making us laugh who were last seen putting us in splits through 'Entertainment Ki Raat'. We already talked about Sidharth Sagar, Abhilash  Thapliyal and Paritosh Tripathi. Gaurav Dubey of 'Comedy Classes' is also part of 'Comedy Circus'. Another comedian named Pushpinder Zira has also been signed.


Archana Puran Singh who was missing from action for a while, had told Mirror in June, before the 'Comedy Cricus 2018' shoot began, "We start shooting on 17 June. It’s like a homecoming… I don’t think I shed a tear when Comedy Circus closed down for a few years, but when I walk back on the sets I will be misty-eyed. It will be quite the nostalgia trip as I will be meeting old friends and colleagues. There is so much zeal behind the show".

Comedy Circus had earlier ended in 2014 due to falling TRP's and the tough competition it faced with Kapil Sharma's 'Comedy Nights With Kapil' on Colors and Mad In India on Star Plus.

Now that our television sets are craving some comedy dose, it is a grand opportunity for 'Comedy Circus' which is returning with a fresh dose of laughter for audience.

'Comedy Circus Returns' [also referred to as by many portals] is brought back by the original team of Nikul C Desai and Vipul D Shah and produced by Optimystix.
