New Delhi: Ankita Lokhande and the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput were in a relationship for six years before parting ways. The actress later found love in businessman Vicky Jain and married him in December 2021. The actress recently spoke about getting into a relationship with Vicky post-breakup with Sushant.

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Ankita said she never lost faith in love despite her emotional breakup with Sushant. “After whatever happened, and after two years, mera kabhi pyaar par se vishwas nahi utha (I never lost faith in love). I was so confident that I am made for this. There is a guy for me who will come, who will fulfill my dreams, who will give me that wedding. Main kabhi pyaar ko reject nahi kar payi. I always had this feeling that yes there is someone for me. I think mera joh existence hai woh love hai. And that’s what I feel (I could never reject love. I think my existence is love),” she told Bollywood Bubble.

Ankita’s husband, Vicky, was also part of the interview and he spoke about being with her during the tough phase when Sushant died. He also faced trolls and backlash during that period, something for which he was always prepared for knowing Ankita’s profession.

“I can say that I got a sense at that point about what I should be doing, and this is what I had committed for. In life, you don’t know what will happen, nobody knows, but everybody goes through (something). I’ve always believed we both are a team. Whatever is happening to her, it’s just not her, I am also there. Whatever may happen, we will face the music together,” Vicky told Bollywood Bubble.

“I have always respected that Ankita has always been very protective about her relationships. There was a time when whatever was happening, all the aspects of news were not covered and Ankita had a very important secured position in that particular incident. Not just being in a relationship, but as a human being, she had some responsibilities which she should have come forward and spoken about it and it was essential. I felt it as a human being. I’ve always been very straight in my life so there are some things called duties, and some called karma, I never mix both of them. I was dutiful at that point in time. I had to do it and I was so sure that this is the correct way because it was my duty as a person who has committed her to be in a relationship,” Vicky added.

Ankita and Sushant parted ways in 2016. The actress spoke to the media after his death about the actor and stood by Sushant’s family.
