Actor Amar Upadhyay, widely remembered for his iconic role as Mihir Virani in Ektaa Kapoor's beloved series ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, recently shared a memorable episode from his time on the show that reflects just how deeply fans connected with his character.
Women dressed in white came to his house
When Mihir was killed off, the reaction from the audience was unexpectedly overwhelming. Amar recalls how fans, including a group of women dressed in mourning attire, went to extreme lengths to show their grief outside his home.
In a conversation with ABP News Entertainment Live, Amar recounted, “In the morning, the doorbell rang, and when I opened it, there were 15-20 women standing at the gate dressed in white sarees. They looked at me in disbelief. When I asked them why they were dressed like that, they simply replied, ‘Kuch nahi (nothing).’ Then my mother, who had overheard, prodded them further, and they finally said, ‘Since Mihir died, we thought…’” Amar explained how his mother reacted with shock, scolding the group with, “Are you mad? He has died in the show! What are you doing? Run away now. He is my son!” He added that his mother was visibly angry over the situation.
