New Delhi: Vaibhavi Upadhyaya, best known for her role in the hit television series 'Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai', died in a road accident. The actor, who played Jasmine in the show, met with a car accident in Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday morning. She was 32


Producer JD Majethia, who worked with Upadhayay in the show 'Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai Take 2', broke the sad news. He said that the accident happened in North India in a tweet. "Life is so unpredictable. A very fine actress, dear friend Vaibhavi Upadhyay popularly known as 'Jasmine' of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai passed away. She met with an accident in the north. Family will bring her to Mumbai tomorrow morning around 11 am for last rites. RIP Vaibhavi (sic)," reads JD Majethia's post.






According to ETimes, the actor and her fiancé were in a car when it lost control while making a quick, steep turn. The body is being brought to Mumbai by her family members, who are in Chandigarh. On Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Mumbai, the funeral rites will be performed.


Popular televison actor Deven Bhojani tweeted about the incident as well. "Shocking! A very fine actress and a dear friend Vaibhavi Upadhyay, popularly known as “Jasmine“ of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai passed away. She met with an accident in north a few hours back. Rest in peace Vaibhavi," he wrote.






Upadhyay appeared in several more projects besides the television series 'Sarabhai Vs. Sarabhai', including the films 'Chhapaak', 'Kya Qasoor Hai Amla Ka', and 'Please Find Attached'.
