Sushant Singh Rajput Death Drug Connection: Here's How NCB Got Involved In SSR Case

Mumbai: Every day, newer perspective and angles emerge in the death case of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The ongoing death case which is being investigated by the Central agencies – Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), has taken several dimensions during its probe. Though the reason for SSR’s death has not been yet announced officially, reportedly, it has been conjectured that the actor died by suicide.
The investigation of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case commenced after he was found dead in his apartment in Bandra. Mumbai Police started investigating the case. Pictures of Sushant’s dead body went viral on social media and netizens started noticing some abnormality in the body. The fans sensed some sense of conspiracy related to SSR’s death and started demanding a CBI enquiry in the matter.
Meanwhile, Sushant’s father KK Singh had also lodged an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty, Indrajit Chakraborty, Sandhya Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty, Samuel Miranda and Shruti Modi for the abetment of his son’s suicide at Patna Police station. Mr Singh had filed the complaint under Indian Penal Code sections of 306 (abetment of suicide), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 380 (theft in dwelling house), 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating & dishonestly inducing delivery of property).
The late actor’s father had also demanded a CBI investigation in his son’s death case. Days after the Central government recommended a CBI enquiry, the Supreme Court ordered a CBI enquiry in the death case.
After gathering facts from the Bihar Police, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) then started with its probe in the matter. While looking into the death and money laundering case filed by Sushant’s father, the investigating agencies found out a link of drugs related to Sushant’s death. The NCB then joined the other two agencies in finding out the truth related to Sushant’s death.
After NCB started with their investigation, they have arrested many people including Rhea Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty, Samuel Miranda and others. The agency also arrested several drug peddlers in the case. After spending one month in jail, Rhea came out on bail.
Celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and others were summoned for questioning by the NCB. The agency also raided Arjun Rampal's residence in Bandra. NCB also raided comedienne Bharti Singh’s residence and arrested her and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa after the team recovered marijuana from their house reportedly.
Earlier this year, the NCB filed a charge sheet which includes 12,000 pages in hard copy and around 50,000 pages in digital format reportedly. 33 names like Rhea Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty, Samuel Miranda and others have been included in the charge sheet.
On May 28, 2021, the NCB arrested Sushant Singh Rajput’s friend and flatmate Siddharth Pithani and on June 4, 2021, he has been sent to 14-days of judicial custody.
It has been one year since the talented actor Sushant Singh Rajput left for his heavenly abode. As the investigation of his death case is still on, the CBI is yet to file a charge sheet in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.
