New Delhi: Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput left for his heavenly abode last year on June 14. The ‘Kai Po Che’ actor was allegedly found hanging in his Bandra apartment and since then, the investigation of his death case is an ongoing process. Earlier, SSR’s death case was investigated by the Mumbai Police but after his father lodged an FIR at Patna, the probe was taken over by the CBI. The ‘Kedarnath’ actor’s death case is currently being investigated by three central agencies – CBI, NCB and ED.
While the CBI has not yet ruled out the actual reason of his death officially, the investigation of his death case led the way to the alleged drug cartel that exists in the tinsel town. While the Narcotics Control Bureau has arrested many people related to the drug case, according to the latest update, Rahila Furniturewala and British citizen Karan Sanjani has been arrested by the investigating agency in SSR’s 16/20 case.
Rahila Furniturewala was also earlier arrested by the NCB.
As a part of the investigation, yesterday, the NCB grilled Dia Mirza’s former manager Rahila and Karan, who is a British businessman. Last month, the investigating agency arrested the two for allegedly possessing drugs. Rahila Furnuturewala and Karan Sajnani’s name popped up while investigating Sushant’s death case.
Assistant director Rishikesh Pawar has also been arrested by the agency for allegedly supplying drugs to the ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy’ actor through his cook Dipesh Sawant. Pawar was also the friend of the late actor and has worked with SSR on the latter’s dream project. The agency has also seized several drug related pictures from the assistant director’s laptop.
