Shetty, who is gearing up for the new season of 'Hunter: Tootega Nahi Todega', spoke about how modern parenting is heavily influenced by online advice. “A lot has changed,” he said, adding that people now rely on virtual platforms to learn “how to be a mother, how to be a father, what to eat, and what to do.”
However, it was his suggestion that a wife should be understanding of her husband’s career commitments, and prioritise childcare instead, ]that didn’t sit well with many netizens.

Reddit and X (formerly Twitter) were abuzz with users expressing their disappointment. One user wrote, “Sometimes being quiet is the wisest thing, doesn't their PR team advise them? Or even people around them… Bro should learn from his damad (son-in-law).”
Another user posted, “Don’t get deceived by his looks or the kind of roles he plays. Suniel is ultimately 60+ and has a mindset similar to many people in his age group.”
Several others pointed out that age isn’t an excuse. “Still unacceptable. My dad’s 65+ and more feminist than any man I know,” said one commenter. Another chimed in with, “He’s turned out to be such an unlikable person.”

Earlier this year, Shetty was slammed for praising his daughter Athiya Shetty for choosing natural birth over a C-section, calling the latter “comfortable.” His remarks didn’t go unnoticed, especially by actress Gauahar Khan, who publicly criticised him.
“A what? I want to like scream at the top of my voice and say, how could you say that? Like how? There are so many myths around this topic — that if someone is having a C-section, it’s the easier option. How can there be so much misinformation? And for a male celebrity to say that, who didn’t go through pregnancy, didn’t carry a child, doesn’t know how painful C-section is,” Gauahar had said.
Suniel Shetty, who has been married to Mana Shetty for decades, is a father to two children — actress Athiya Shetty and actor Ahan Shetty. But his recent comments have cast a shadow over his public image, with many urging him to be more mindful of what he says, especially on topics involving women’s health and parenting.
