Telugu Actor Chandrakanth Dies By Suicide Days After Surviving Car Accident That Killed Co-Star Pavithra Jayaram

Telugu television actor Chandrakanth, widely recognized as Chandu, has reportedly died by suicide at his home in Alkapur, Telangana, days after the death of his co-star Pavithra Jayaram.

New Delhi: Telugu television actor Chandrakanth, widely recognized as Chandu, has reportedly died by suicide at his home in Alkapur, Telangana. His reported death on Friday has deeply saddened the Telugu television industry, especially following the recent tragic loss of his co-star and dear friend Pavithra Jayaram in a fatal road accident. According to a statement given to the police by Chandrakanth’s father, the actor had been battling depression in the days leading up to his untimely demise.

Chandrakanth was discovered deceased at his home in Alkapur, Rangareddy District, Telangana. Reports indicate that he was found hanging at the same residence where he and Pavithra Jayaram had lived together. He was profoundly impacted by Pavithra’s untimely death and was also involved in the accident that led to her demise.

On Sunday, May 12, in Hyderabad, Pavithra Jayaram tragically lost her life in a road accident when a bus collided with her car. At the time of the accident, Pavithra was accompanied by her sister, Apeksha, the driver Srikant, and Chandrakanth.

Chandrakanth, deeply affected by Pavithra’s death, expressed his grief through heartfelt tributes dedicated to his ‘Trinayani’ co-star. His final Instagram post was a poignant homage to Pavithra, with rumors circulating that the two were in a relationship.

One of his posts read, “Papa netho digina last pic raa. not able to digest to left me alone, okasari mama aniii piluveee plsss @pavithrajayaram_chandar. My Pavi is no more, pls ra come back plsss. (Papa, this is the last picture we took together. I can’t bear being without you. Just call me ‘mama’ once please @pavithrajayaram_chandar. My beloved Pavi is gone, please come back).”

Chandrakanth rose to fame with his role in the TV series 'Trinayani', while Pavithra, a well-known TV personality, had been previously married and had two children. Their tragic deaths have sparked renewed discussions about mental health awareness.
