What the Tamil Nadu Health Minister said about Rajinikanth's health

Earlier Tamil Nadu's Health Minister Ma Subramanian had said that Rajinikanth was admitted late Monday night, although the original plan was for him to visit the hospital Tuesday morning on an empty stomach for routine tests.

"Actor Rajini went to the hospital for a periodic check up. He was to have gone to the facility on an empty stomach today but had gone there last night for the test," Minister Subramanian informed the media.

Subramanian also shared that he has been in constant touch with hospital authorities and had spoken to the doctors overseeing the actor's care.

"We enquired with the in-charge at the hospital. They said since Rajini was a big celebrity he was asked to get admitted in the night for the periodic check-up," Subramanian said, adding that the superstar is doing well and will be discharged soon.
