Pushpa 2 trailer launch: Telugu superstar Allu Arjun made his first-ever visit to Patna on Sunday to launch the trailer of his highly anticipated film 'Pushpa 2: The Rule'. The grand event, held at the iconic Gandhi Maidan, drew an enormous crowd of fans eager to catch a glimpse of the actor and his co-star Rashmika Mandanna. However, the evening was marred by chaos as crowd control became a significant challenge.

Allu Arjun thanks the crowd

Allu Arjun, who recently won the National Award for Best Actor, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to his fans for the overwhelming love they showered on him. “I am grateful to all of you for your love and warm welcome,” he said, addressing the packed gathering.

Referencing his iconic dialogue from Pushpa: The Rise (2021), Arjun added, “Pushpa kabhi jhukega nahin, lekin aaj pehli baar, aapke pyaar ke liye jhukega (Pushpa will never bow down, but today, for the first time, he will bow down for your love).”

The actor, visibly moved by the reception, asked for understanding regarding his limited Hindi, jokingly apologising for his “thoda galat” speaking skills.

Rashmika Mandanna, who reprises her role as Srivalli, also attended the event, adding to the excitement of the fans. Directed by Sukumar, the film also features Fahadh Faasil and is slated for release on December 5.

Chaos at Gandhi Maidan

Despite the celebratory atmosphere, the event took a chaotic turn when sections of the crowd attempted to breach barricades to get closer to the stars. A stampede-like situation ensued, with reports of some spectators hurling slippers towards the stage.

Clips showing a section of the audience throwing slippers toward the stage during the event began circulating on social media on Sunday evening.

Police intervened to manage the unruly crowd, leading to reports of a mild lathi charge. However, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajeev Mishra dismissed these claims, and told PTI, “Only a group of people who tried to cross the barricade were removed. An adequate number of security personnel were deployed at Gandhi Maidan.”

Pushpa 2: The Rule promotion begins

The trailer launch marks the beginning of the promotional campaign for 'Pushpa 2: The Rule', the sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, with music by T-Series, the film is one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
