Malayali Actor Nirmal Benny Passes Away At 34
Actor Nirmal Benny, known for his work in the Malayalam film industry, has passed away.
New Delhi: Actor Nirmal Benny, known for his work in the Malayalam film industry, has passed away. The actor passed away in the early hours of August 23, 2024. He was 37 years old. The news of his death has come as a shock to many in the industry. Benny's close friend and producer Sanjay Padiyoor shared the news on social media to share the news of his friend's demise.
In the Facebook post shared by Sanjay, he revealed that Nirmal had a heart attack in Thiruvananthapuram. "Bidding adieu to my dear friend… The Kochachan role of ‘Amen’ and the central character he played in my ‘Dooram’. He died early this morning due to a heart attack. Praying to God that the soul of my dear friend rests in eternal peace," his post read.

Nirmal Benny began his career as a comic. After generatinga fan following on YouTube, he made his entry into films. In 2012, he debuted as an actor in the film 'Navgatharkku Swagatham'. The film was written by Kalavoor Ravikumar and was directed by Jayakrishna Karanavar.
Benny has been a part of some five films including 'Amen' and 'Dooram'. He gained fame for his role of a priest in Lijo Jose Pellissery’s film 'Amen' and by playing the central role in the film 'Dooram'.
'Amen' is a comedy-drama directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery and written by PS Rafeeque, adapted from a story by Pellissery. The film was also a commercial success at the box office.
Meanwhile, 'Dooram' is a romantic comedy which has been directed by Manu Kannamthanam and stars Maqbool Salman. Nirmal Benny played a key role in the film. His character name in the film was Shanavas.
