New Delhi: Vijay's action-thriller "Thalapathy" Leo is off to a great start at the box office; in its first two days of release, it brought in an astounding Rs 100 crore in India. Leo made an additional Rs 40 crore on its third day of release, raising its total earnings to Rs 140.05 crores, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. Leo outperformed Rajinikanth's Jailer, which brought in Rs 44.5 crore earlier this year, with a first-day gross of an astonishing Rs 64 crore in India. The second day wasn't as successful, with sales falling to Rs 35 crore, a 45% decrease. It will be interesting to see if Leo can surpass Rajinikanth's Jailer, which brought in more than Rs 600 crore globally.
Sanjay Dutt, Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, Mysskin, Sandy, and Gautham Menon are among the other actors who appear in the Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed film Leo. It is made available in a number of languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. On Saturday, Leo had a 76.25% overall Tamil occupancy rate.
Ramesh Bala, a trade expert, claims that after making its debut on Wednesday, Leo saw a decline in sales on Saturday at the US box office. Leo is currently the seventh-highest grossing Kollywood film of all time and is the highest-grossing movie for both Vijay and filmmaker Lokesh in the USA. According to Sacnilk, the movie has made Rs 212 crore worldwide.
In Tamil Nadu, where Vijay is from, the movie is very successful. On the third day, Tamil Nadu's collections were projected to be at Rs 26 crore. Leo is also doing well financially in other states, with earnings from Kerala totaling about Rs. 7 crore, the Andhra Pradesh/Telangana region contributing about Rs. 5 crore, and Karnataka contributing about Rs. 5.50 crore. After Master, Vijay and Lokesh collaborate once more on Leo. It is a part of Lokesh's canon of police procedural films, which also includes Karthi's Kaithi and Kamal Haasan's Vikram. His upcoming film, starring Rajinikanth, has the potential to bring together three of the most well-known Tamil actors in history.
