Leo Box Office Collection Day 1: Starring Thalapathy Vijay and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the movie enjoys a great start at the box office.
New Delhi: The Thalapthy Vijay starrer ‘Leo’ was released in cinemas on Thursday. Since its release, the movie has achieved the highest global opening of the year in the Indian film industry. The film has received generally positive reviews, however, there is a section of the audience that has expressed dissatisfaction with the second half of the film. On its first day, the film grossed 68 crore nett in India across all language versions, according to a Sacknilk report.
'Leo' witnessed the biggest worldwide opening for a Kollywood film. The film's overseas earnings are estimated to be Rs 65 crore, with a global total of Rs 145 crore.
Talking about ‘Leo’ box office collection, the film is projected to earn Rs 32.00 crore in Tamil Nadu, Rs 12.50 crore in Kerala and Rs 14.50 crore in Karnataka.
According to the official trade estimates, the film ‘Leo’ has earned Rs 63 crore net (excluding the deductions) in India. The actioner had an overall occupancy of 86.92 per cent on October 19.
Trade analyst Ramesh Bala took to Twitter to share the North American and Australian box office figures for ‘Leo’. He pointed out that the movie had already registered an impressive opening.

'Leo' marks the second collaboration of Thalapathy Vijay and director Lokesh Kanagaraj after 'Master'. The film ‘Leo’ is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by SS Lalit Kumar. Apart from Vijay, the film also features Sanjay Dutt, Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, Mansoor Ali Khan, Priya Anand, Mysskin, and Gautham Vasudev Menon.
