New Delhi: Kamal Haasan, renowned for his versatility and charm across various genres, recently discussed his forthcoming projects in an interview with The Hindu. Confirming his involvement in "Indian 3" and dropping hints about his character in the Prabhas-led "Kalki 2898 AD," Haasan shed light on his absence from the silver screen in 2023 following Lokesh Kanagaraj's "Vikram."

"We cannot rush production because quantity is not the priority; quality is," stated Haasan, unveiling his 2024 lineup. "I have completed filming for both 'Indian 2' and 'Indian 3.' Post-production for 'Indian 2' is underway, and we may commence work on 'Indian 3' once this is wrapped up. The shooting for 'Thug Life' will begin very soon. Additionally, I have a guest role in a film titled 'Kalki 2898 AD.'"

In a tweet shared by filmmaker Shankar in July 2023, he provided an update on the VFX progress for "Indian 2," noting, "Scanning the advanced technology at Lola VFX LA." Haasan's portrayal of Senapathy in "Indian 2" required a four-hour makeup session for his aged appearance, followed by an additional two hours for its removal, as reported by ETimes. The film will showcase both the youthful and elderly iterations of the character. It's worth mentioning that Haasan also underwent de-aging sequences for "Vikram," although they did not make the final edit.

Set to release on April 11, 2024, "Indian 2" boasts an ensemble cast including Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Siddharth, Vivek, Kalidas Jayaram, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Guru Somasundaram, and Gulshan Grover in pivotal roles. Co-produced by Subaskaran and Udhayanidhi Stalin under Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies respectively, the vigilante action-thriller has secured digital rights from Netflix for a staggering ₹200 crore, according to a report by News 18.
