Amaran: Sivakarthikeyan Delivers Career's Biggest Hit; Film Collects Rs. 300 Cr Worldwide

Sivakarthikeyan has delivered the biggest hit of his career with 'Amaran'. Starring alongside Sai Pallavi in this war biopic based on the life of army officer and soldier Major Mukund Varadarajan, Sivakarthikeyan is riding high on the success of the film. Within 19 days of its release, 'Amaran' has collected Rs. 300 cr at the global box office. 

Amaran Box Office Report, Day 19

As per an India Today report, many theatre chains in Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu are still running houseful even in its third week since release. While 'Amaran' saw a dip in its collection on its third Monday, the film's consistent performance at the box office has impressed fans and analysts. As per trade tracking site Sacnilk.com, 'Amaran' collcted Rs. 2.5 cr nett in Indian on November 18 taking the total collection to Rs. 192.10 cr. 

'Amaran' is expected to reach the coveted Rs. 200-cr mark nett a few days in India. 

Meanwhile, the worldwide gross stands at Rs. 296 cr. 

 

Amaran's occupancy rates in Tamil Nadu is as follows: On November 18, the film had an overall occupancy of 23.34 percent, on Monday, the morning shows had 19.59%, afternoon shows 23.42%, and evening shows: 28.38%, while night shows had 21.97% occupancy.

In the Telugu-speaking region, thanks to Sai Pallavi's popularity, 'Amaran' has been able to maintain a good occupancy. Despite Kanguva's release and the stiff competition it offers, 'Amaran' has managed to remain unfazed. Word-of-mouth reviews and the performance of its lead actors has everyone talking about the film.

About Amaran

Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy and produced by Kamal Haasan, R. Mahendran, and Sony Pictures International Productions, the film tells the touching love story of Major Mukund Varadharajan, portrayed by Sivakarthikeyan, and Indhu, played by Pallavi.

'Amaran' is inspired from a story featured in Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh's book 'India's Most Fearless'.
