New Delhi: In the ongoing pornography case, businessman Raj Kundra, who was arrested earlier this year, has been granted bail by a court in Mumbai. Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra and accused Ryan Thorpe has been granted bail on the surety of Rs 50,000.

A report in ANI reads, “Mumbai court grants bail to businessman and actor Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra in the pornography case on a surety of Rs 50,000”.

The report further added, “Along with Raj Kundra, accused Ryan Thorpe also granted bail by a court in Mumbai in the pornography case”.

Raj Kundra got arrested in the pornography case on July 19, 2021. The famous businessman got arrested for his alleged role in the creation and streaming of pornographic content through apps. His associate Ryan Thorpe also got arrested along with the businessman. He is reportedly considered the alleged key conspirator in the case.

Meanwhile, the police had earlier opposed Raj Kundra’s bail saying it would send a wrong message to society. Police also told the court he might commit the crime again if released on bail or even try to escape. The police had further reportedly told the court that, if the accused is being granted bail, they might continue to commit similar crimes by uploading obscene videos, which will impact our culture and send a wrong message to society.
