'We Were Aghast And Shocked', Says Shekhar Suman After Media House Claimed Son Adhyayan Suman Died By Suicide

Shekhar Suman said the news published by the leading Hindi news channel ‘devastated’ them as his son Adhyayan was in Delhi and unreachable. Read on to know full details.

New Delhi: Actor Shekhar Suman slammed a media house for falsely publishing fake news about his son Adhyayan Suman’s suicide. He took to his Twitter and said the news published by the leading Hindi news channel ‘devastated’ them as his son Adhyayan was in Delhi and unreachable. Shekhar revealed that they all ‘died a thousand deaths’ on hearing the 'shocking news’.

A portion of the actor’s tweet read, “They said that Adhyayan Suman has committed suicide. Adhyayan was in Delhi and was unreachable and we all died a thousand deaths. Such shocking news could have had a disastrous effect.”

In a series of tweets, Shekhar Suman said that his wife was inconsolable as they announced that Adhyayan Suman has committed suicide while their son was in Delhi.

He then continued and replied to a Twitter user and wrote, I'm suing them. They deserve to be severely punished.we have already lost one son ,you can imagine wat a news like this can do to us.”

Shekhar Suman has also sought help from the Information and Broadcasting Ministry and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to take some legal action for spreading such fake news.

For the unversed, Shekhar Suman and his wife Alka Suman already lost a child Aayush Suman when the latter was only 11 years of age. Aayush succumbed to heart ailment and was the older sibling to Adhyayan Suman. 

Shekhar Suman further revealed that he is taking legal action against the media house and demanded an apology from them. He also requested Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javedkar to take strict action against them.

Earlier, after Sushant Singh Rajput's Death in 2020, Shekhar Suman revealed that his son Adhyayan Suman battled depression and had suicidal thoughts but he has recovered completely.

Adhyayan Suman is an actor by profession and has acted in movies like ‘Raaz – The Mystery Continues’, ‘Haal-e-Dil’ and others.

Shekhar Suman started his career as a hero opposite Rekha in the movie ‘Utsav’, produced by Shashi Kapoor and helmed by Girish Karnad. He has acted in around 35 films in his career. He has also appeared in several television shows and have hosted many reality TV programmes. He was also one of the judges of ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’, ‘Comedy Circus’ and others.
