New Delhi: ‘Shakeela’ is an upcoming biopic on the life of the most hated and loved adult film star adult star by the same name who ruled the South Indian film industry for over two decades. Directed by Indrajit Lankesh, this movie will star Richa Chadha in the lead role. ‘Shakeela’ Trailer OUT! Earlier today, the makers dropped a brand-new song ‘Taaza’ from ‘Shakeela’ where Richa Chadha can be seen acing belly dancing moves. Crooned by Prakriti Kakar, Veer Samarth and Saheb Khan, the music of ‘Taaza’ has been composed by Veer Samarth. Watch the song here:

The trailer of ‘Shakeela’ portrays the unlikely tale of a woman driven by circumstances of going from rags to riches to drags. Shakeela also gave the then superstars of the south film industry (which was predominantly male-dominated industry during that time), a tough competition. The competition was so tough that exhibitors would think twice to release any film in front of a Shakeela film. Pankaj Tripathi can also be seen portraying a pivotal part in this biopic of Shakeela. He is introduced as a star who gets intimidated by Shakeela’s success. Shakeela became so popular that her films started releasing in several languages including Sinhalese and Chinese. She made her debut with the 1995 film ‘Playgirls’ at the age of 16 as a supporting actress. Before her retirement from B grade movies, Shakeela appeared in about 250 films. The makers of ‘Shakeela’ has decided to reach the film far and wide. This film will release in over 1000 screens in five languages - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. Presented and produced by Sammys Magic Cinema Motion Picture Production and distributed by UFO,  'Shakeela' is all set to hit the theatres on December 25. Watch the trailer here:
