'Request The CBI To Reveal If SSR's Death Was Murder Or Suicide' Says Maharashtra HM Anil Deshmukh
Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh urges CBI to reveal the reason behind actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death, whether it was suicide or murder.
The investigation in Sushant Singh Rajput's death is yet to reach the final result and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently probing the case. On June 14, 2020, the actor was found dead at his Bandra residence; post which his family urged for CBI to come on board to investigate this matter. Now as per reports in PTI, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh during a press conference requested the CBI to unveil the truth behind the actor’s death.
He said in the press conference, 'The people of Maharashtra and the country are eagerly waiting for the CBI's report on its investigation into Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. People ask me about the status of the case...I request the CBI to reveal whether it was a suicide or murder.' He also mentioned as the case was handed over to CBI five-six months ago, the investigating agency should now reveal the results out in public in terms of whether it was suicide or murder.
'Five to six months have passed since the case was handed over to the CBI. Hence, the agency should make public its report as soon as possible to clear whether it was suicide or murder,' added Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.
Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde released a statement and welcomed Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh’s statement, calling for the CBI to make the report public. Satish Maneshinde reportedly said, 'A hue and cry was made when the Mumbai Police took about 2 months into the investigations and the report remained to be made public. An FIR was filed in Patna making false allegations against Rhea Chakraborty and her family in July 2020. The Mumbai Police, ED, NCB and CBI including Patna Police have conducted investigations against Rhea.'
He further stated that Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the NCB in a 'bogus case with no evidence' and was in custody for almost a month until the Bombay High Court granted her bail. Satish Maneshinde added that he has always maintained that the truth shall remain the same, no matter who investigates the case. 'Whatever may be the Circumstances, the CBI should come out with its findings after 4 months of investigations by the Premier investigating agency of the country. It is high time that there is a Closure to this Sad Event. Satya Meva Jayate,' he said.
Meanwhile, Shekhar Suman has been demanding justice for Sushant Singh Rajput and he had tweeted that six months is an unimaginably long time for a sensitive case like this one. He also appealed to the news channels, social media activists and others to demand for justice, saying that justice delayed is justice denied.
Apart from the CBI, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) have also been probing the financial irregularities and drug angle respectively, in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. Sushant's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the NCB a few months ago, but was later granted bail.
