Rani Mukerji Compares Her Upcoming Film 'Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway' Trailer Reaction To Her 18 Years Old Drama 'Black'

Rani compared 'Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway' trailer reaction to the acclaim she earned in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film ‘Black’, 18 years ago.

New Delhi: Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway, which stars Rani Mukerji, has generated a tonne of interest thanks to its trailer. The actress is thrilled by the warm reaction to her new film's teaser. She compared it to the acclaim she earned for her role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film ‘Black’, 18 years ago.

Mrs. Chatterjee Vs. Norway's trailer depicts a mother's fight against an institutionalised scam in Norway that illegally removes children from their homes and places them with foster families in exchange for cash.

Rani, taken aback by the audience responses to the teaser, said: "In my entire career, this is probably the first time I am witnessing so much love and emotion of this kind for my work!! The last I remember this had happened was during Black! Very rarely do we get to see such unanimous reactions for a trailer. To see people get teary-eyed and cry after seeing the trailer of a film is again never heard of before."

The actress thinks the trailer did well because it was easy to relate to the struggles of a mother. She said, "Somewhere they are connecting to the helplessness of a mother and are getting angered by the injustice. I am witnessing these kinds of reactions for the very first time. It baffles them that it's a true story. I am really happy and hopeful that if the trailer can move them to this degree, they will definitely be moved to see Debika's cathartic journey in the film."

The film is set to premiere on March 17.

Rani was last seen in Bunty Aur Babli 2 in 2021.
