As per the news agency ANI, she has been made the vice president of Mahila Morcha of RPI.

In recent allegations of sexual exploitation, film actress Payal Ghosh had lodged a written complaint against filmmaker Anurag Kashyap under various sections of the IPC at Versova police station on Tuesday (September 22).

The actress had the backing of Ramdas Athawale, president of the Republican Party of India (RPI), who came out in support of the actress in her fight against director Anurag Kashyap. Athawale asserted that his party will protect Payal Ghosh as she has dared to come out and speak about her tragic experience.

Apart from supporting the actress, the minister also met Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari along with Ghosh. It had fuelled speculations about the actress joining the party. However, the rumours are now true with the actress joining the party.

In retaliation to Payal Ghosh complaint, Anurag Kashyap also registered a case at the Oshiwara police station in Mumbai. However, the director has outrightly denied these allegations.

Payal, who has worked in South films like ‘Prayanam’,’ Mr. Rascal’, and ‘Oosaravelli’, accused Kashyap of sexual misconduct. She alleged that the 'Choked' director tried to force himself on her. The actress tagged PMO India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Twitter handles while requesting security on social media.

Several tinsel town celebs including Taapsee Pannu, Huma Qureshi, Hansal Mehta came out in Kashyap's support. Kangana Ranaut, who was recently engaged in a war of words with the 'Black Friday' director, extended support to Payal Ghosh and demanded Kashyap's arrest.
